NSW Public Schools drama ensembles – Sydney north
Sydney North drama ensembles are open to talented and interested drama students in Years 4 to 12 from NSW public schools.
The ensembles provide an engaging and supportive environment in which students are provided with the opportunity to be challenged and extended in their knowledge and skills of drama. Students will have the opportunity to work with industry drama practitioners and teachers from the NSW Department of Education to refine and develop their performance skills.
In 2026 there will be 2 drama ensembles
- Sydney North Primary Drama Ensemble for students in Years 4 to 6
- Sydney North Secondary Drama Ensemble for students in Years 7 to 12

Applications
Applications for the workshop auditions have now closed.
Primary ensemble
Applications for primary students to attend the workshop audition are now closed, workshop capacity has been reached. After attending the audition workshop, students will be offered a place in the ensemble by Tuesday 12 May. Closing date for acceptances is Thursday 14 May 2026 (Term 2 Week 4).
Secondary ensemble
Applications for students to participate in the ensemble are now closed. Students will be notified of their acceptance by Thursday 23 April 2026 (Term 2 Week 1). Closing date for acceptances is Wednesday 29 April 2026 (Term 2 Week 2).
Cost
- $220 per student for students accepted into the ensembles
- Payment will be made through The Arts Unit student payment portal
- Payment required by Friday 29 May 2026 (Term 2 Week 2).

The following dates are for all students participating in the Sydney North drama ensemble.

NB: The drama ensemble will be considered for the State Drama festival in Term 4. If successful, additional rehearsals may be scheduled.
