Instrumental Music Ensembles

There are a range of opportunities offered by The Arts Unit for students in public schools who play musical instruments.

There are many weekly music ensembles that rehearse weekly in Sydney. Membership to these ensembles is by audition and open to students in Years 5 - 12. The commitment is for the full school year and attendance is compulsory.  Please note that annual membership fees for 2016 are $390 per ensemble.

State Music Ensembles

The Arts Unit also offers state music ensembles that rehearse intensely for a short time. Membership is open to students in Years 5 - 12. The commitment varies depending on the ensemble.

 

NSW Public Schools Millennium Marching Band

marching bandThe Millennium Marching Band was originally formed for the 2000 sydney Olympics. Since then this ensemble of instrumentalists, dances, and gymnasts has performed its intricate marching patterns and music to thousands of people at football matches, in ANZAC day ceremonies and in the Schools Spectacular.
