Music teachers

The Arts Unit invites music specialists to be a tutor, conductor, accompanist or director for weekly music ensembles. Weekly rehearsals are held in Lewisham.

Applications are now open. To apply, please complete the instrumental and vocal ensembles staff application form. Applications close on Monday 5 October 2026, 5 pm.

Staff applications for all 2027 instrumental and vocal ensembles were open to NSW Department of Education teachers, industry professionals and tertiary students.

Successful applicants will be notified by email on Friday 16 October.

Ensemble positions

  • Instrumental weekly tutors
  • Vocal weekly tutors
  • Weekly accompanists for vocal ensembles
  • Conductors and directors

Weekly ensembles

  • Monday: Symphonic Wind Orchestra (SWO) and Symphonic Wind Ensemble (SWE) 4:30 to 7 pm
  • Tuesday: Senior Singers 4:30 to 7 pm
  • Tuesday: Junior Singers 4:30 to 6:30 pm
  • Tuesday: Jazz Orchestra and Stage Band 4:30 to 6:30 pm
  • Thursday: Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonia 4:30 to 7 pm

Weekly rehearsals are held at The Arts Unit, Lewisham Public School.
