SUSAN SUKKAR: Welcome. This is the recording of the Festival of Instrumental Music 2023 recorder repertoire. My name is Susan Sukkar. I work at the Arts Unit and Petersham Public School, and I'm playing descant recorder solo.

HANS-DIETER: My name is Hans, and I'm teaching at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in the early music department on recorder and performance and also at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts. I'll be playing the treble solo part today.

ALEXEI: I'm Alexei. I am currently studying a bachelor of performance on recorder at the Sydney Conservatorium. I originally started by playing in the Festival of Instrumental Music and today, I will be playing the descant recorder 1.

MIKAELA: My name is Mikaela, and I teach at Petersham Public School, Ashbury Public School and Ryde East Public School. And I also started my time on recorder through the Festival of Instrumental Music from Kindergarten all the way through primary school. And today, I'll be playing the descant 2 recorder part.

FIONA: My name is Fiona, and I teach at Manly Village Public School. And today, I'll be playing the treble recorder part.

TRACY: Hi, my name is Tracy, and I teach in the music program at Concord West Public School, and I'm artistic director for Symphonia Jubilate. And today, I'm playing the tenor recorder.

ALICIA: I'm Alicia, teaching at Birchgrove Public School. And today, I'll be playing the bass recorder part for 'Marche Militaire'.

KATHY: Hello. My name is Kathy, and I've worked in the Festival Instrumental of Music for many years. And I also teach at the Sydney Conservatorium Open Academy, and I'll be playing the piano part for 'Marche Militaire'. This piece was originally written in 1818 by Schubert, and was written for piano (4 hands), which means 2 players on one keyboard.
