Audition process
- Auditions will occur through live performance of a piece of free choice designed to demonstrate the performer’s ability and range of style, 2 mins maximum.
- The audition should demonstrate a prepared performance.
- It need not be from the start of the selected piece.
- If required, the auditionee may be asked to perform a short sight-reading excerpt to gauge their ability.
- Amplifiers, a drum kit and piano will be available.
- Students absent through extreme circumstances may be asked to attend the Ensemble Camp as their call-back.
- Please note: Instrumental auditions will be stopped at 2 minutes. Please do not be offended if your audition is stopped; this is purely to ensure all auditions have equal time.
The Ensemble is only stage band instruments:
- Trumpet
- Trombone
- Saxophone (alto, tenor, baritone)
- Keyboard
- Electric guitar
- Bass guitar/double bass
- Drums
