Who can apply?

This camp is open to students currently attending a public school in NSW who are enrolled in the Preliminary Drama course.

If you were unable to enrol in Preliminary Drama due to your school context, please email drama.artsunit@det.nsw.edu.au to register your interest if spaces are unfilled.

Location

Arrival and departure times

If you are successful, the schedule will be confirmed when you accept your place. However, please use the below times as a rough guide, especially if you are travelling long distances.

Arrival
  • All students should aim to arrive at Collaroy at 3 pm on Monday 30 June. 
  • Students who are being dropped off by car are asked to use the road access between 2:45 pm – 3:15 pm.
  • Students travelling by public transport should note that the venue is a 10 minute walk from the closes bus stop.
  • Students from regional, rural and remote areas have the option to arrive at Central Station by approximately 12:30 pm and will be met by camp staff to take a direct bus transfer. If numbers allow, students from the Sydney region may also be able to access this option. Please note that additional charges may apply for bus transfer.
Departure
  • Students will showcase their group pieces in a performance evening at 8:00 pm on Thursday 3 July. Parents are invited to attend this showcase and collect their child at the end of the performances at approximately 10:00 pm.
  • Students have the option of staying Thursday night and departing on the morning of Friday 4 July.
  • A bus transfer to Central Station can be made available for students needing to travel back to Central Station to their connecting transport. Please note that additional charges may apply.
  • All students must depart the camp site by 8:00 am on Friday 4 July. However, any students from regional, rural and remote areas may request to stay under teacher supervision for the Year 9 and 10 performances and depart as a group at approximately 1 pm. 

Cost

Please note that this a subsidised payment for all students that partly covers accommodation, meals, room hire, performer fees and staffing.

  • $580 for metro and non-metro students
  • $435 for rural and remote students
