These workshops are designed to coach and provide practise in debating skills, including rebuttal, arguments, definitions, and speakers' roles. The workshops also feature games and activities, giving each student a chance to deliver a short speech with feedback. Around 3,500 students from nearly 500 schools across NSW participated in the previous year, and even more are expected this year.

Workshop venues and dates

Time: 9:30 am to 2:45 pm (arrival by 9:15 am recommended)

  • Mon 5 May – Warrimoo Public School
  • Tue 6 May– Penrith Public School
  • Wed 7 May – William Dean Public School
  • Thu 8 May– Toongabbie Public School

Workshop details

Participants: Open to teachers and a maximum of 8 students per school, with the possibility to bring additional students upon request.
Cost: $25.00 per student, debited after the event.
Requirements for students: Bring morning tea and lunch, a clipboard, and note-taking materials. Palm cards and a light morning tea and lunch will be provided for adults.
Registration: Complete the registration form or email with school details, contact teacher’s name, preferred and alternate venues, and the number of participants.
