Participating schools will attend a 2 hour  online workshop with YuNiOn tutors.

In this workshop students will learn a simple piece of music which includes movement and voice (Kakegoe) and will work through the order of events for the musical piece. The order of events is comprised of a simple introduction, theme, base rhythm, and coda (ending). Students will also have the opportunity to explore improvisation throughout this piece of music.

The program is a non-audition program and is open to all students that attend a NSW Public School in Years 5-12 who love music. Students do not need to have any music training or experience; they must be willing to participate actively in the workshops.

 

Workshop information

This is an online workshop 

  • Friday 29 August
    • Session 1: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
    • Session 2: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
  • Up to 30 students per school – $130.00

Application process

  1. Up to 30 students per school can attend the workshop as a group.
  2. Complete this online application form, including all of your students' details and contact teacher information.

Once an application has been submitted, you will have until Friday 1 August to cancel or amend your numbers.

Refund policy

If you are unable to attend the workshop, you have up to seven days to submit a refund request. Please email your request to [email protected]. Refunds will only be processed in cases of extenuating circumstances.

Important information

In the event of injury, no personal injury insurance cover is provided by the NSW Department of Education for students in relation to school sporting activities, physical education lessons or any other school activity. The department’s public liability cover is fault-based and limited to breaches by the department of its duty of care to students that may result in claims for compensation.

Parents/carers are advised to assess the level and extent of their child’s involvement in the activity when deciding whether additional insurance cover is required prior to their child’s involvement in the program. Personal accident insurance cover is available through normal retail insurance outlets.

The information requested in this note is being collected by the NSW Department of Education. The department will use the information in connection with your student's participation in this event for the following purposes:

  1. administration;
  2. communication with parents/carers; and
  3. for the health, safety and welfare of your student.

The department might share the information requested in this note with health care providers in the event that your student requires urgent medical attention. All personal information will be held securely and disposed of securely when no longer needed.

I understand that the school will be charged $130 for participation in the NSW Public Schools Taiko drumming program. Fees are processed as a direct debit via an Intercompany Journal (previously Sundry Tax) after the first session.
