The Arts Unit, in collaboration with The Australian Ballet, will host a series of workshop opportunities for students from Years 3 to 12.
The 1-day workshops will be held at Tanya Pearson Academy and are taught by tutors from The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach Team.
About the workshop
The workshops are crafted around the students' skill level and cover ballet and contemporary technique through to repertoire and choreographic process. Students will take part in a warm-up, technical exercises, learn repertoire and explore choreographic elements.

- Students do not need to be currently studying for a RAD exam to attend.
- Workshops are also suitable for contemporary dance students.
- Application will close when workshops reach 30 students maximum.
Cost
- $85.00 – Years 5–6
What to bring and wear
- Please wear comfortable dance clothing. All hair must be tied up and away from face.
- Girls – Leotard and tights or dance shorts over the tights (no mid drift tops, unless accompanied with a singlet/t-shirt).
- Boys – T-shirt/singlet with tights and/or dance shorts.
- All students are to bring ballet flats (NO pointe shoes are needed).
- Please bring only water and plenty to eat for the breaks. Do not bring food containing nuts.
- Your name clearly marked on belongings and leave unnecessary valuables at home.
- Medications must be left with The Arts Unit staff at the sign in desk.
- There is no provision for parents to view the class in progress.
Performance
Each day, students who have participated in the workshops will have the opportunity to view a performance by The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach Team in the Tanya Pearson studios.
Participation is open to all students attending NSW public schools.
