Lithgow winters have a distinctive quality, a unique blend of climate, environment and human activity. The final composition of this work was the result of several photo shoots with a parabolic mirror and some cut-and-pasting. The rendering of the ix poss premier mage, using acrylic paint scratched over melamine, created a series of problems, not least of which was the need to apply colours in one hit. I set out to create a detailed, linear work and, although the process threw up qualities I had not envisaged, the result was a pleasing end to a long process.
