Riverina Central Choir
The Riverina Central Choir is based in Wagga Wagga. It is open to public school students across the Riverina and consists of two divisions:
- Junior Division (Year 3 to 6)
- Senior Division (Year 7 to 12)
The ensemble delivers high quality training and performance opportunities. Regular rehearsals are held each term, along with opportunities for participation in local and state events such as the Festival of Choral Music, Primary Proms, In Concert Secondary Choral, Schools Spectacular, Opera Australia Children’s Choir, Wagga’s Christmas Spectacular.

Applications
Applications for 2026 are now open.
Please complete the Riverina Central Choir Audition registration by Monday 16 February 2026 (Term 1 Week 4).
Cost
- Ensemble fee – $280 for the year.

Extra fees will be required in the case of selection for performance excursions to cover participation fees, travel and accommodation.
Auditions
- Date: Wednesday 18 February 2026 (Term 1 Week 4)
- Where: South Wagga Public School hall
- Junior division (Years 3 to 6) will audition from 1:15 pm to 3:00 pm
- Senior division (Years 7 to 12) will audition from 3:45 pm to 5:20 pm
During the audition, students will engage in vocal warm up exercises and learn a given song. No prepared piece is required.
Offer of places in the Riverina Central Choir will be advised in Week 5 via email, with ensemble rehearsals to begin the following week.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays at South Wagga Public School.
- Junior division 1:15 pm to 3:00 pm
- Senior division 3:45 pm to 5:20 pm
Successful students will meet three or four times per term, commencing with the Term 1 2026 schedule below:
- Wednesday 18 February (audition) Term 1 Week 4
- Wednesday 4 March Term 1 Week 6
- Wednesday 18 March Term 1 Week 8
The complete rehearsal dates will be sent out upon acceptance.
