In the Spotlight Dance Festival (ITSDF) is an arts event for NSW public schools across Metropolitan South and beyond. The festival promotes dance education to engage students in rigorous and comprehensive syllabus based learning in NSW public primary and high schools. 

Showcasing 4000 Kindergarten to Year 12 students, over 200 dance items in 18 programs across 9 evenings.  Each performance displays the passion, skills and creativity of students and teachers as they explore the art of dance.


2024

Festival dates:  Tuesday 18 June to Wednesday 26 June 2024 (Term 2 Week 8 and 9)

ITSDF24 Committee

Expressions of interest for In the Spotlight Dance Festival Committee will be available for teachers seeking further professional learning in dance. The committee will comprise of both primary and secondary teachers with dance and event experience.

The role of the dance committee will be to advise, coordinate and implement ITSDF24 auditions, programming, support to schools and production team. In addition to being a production team member this commitment includes participation in team conference calls during terms 1 and 2.

Interested teachers are required to complete the ITSDF24 Committee EOI by Friday 22 March 4:30 pm (Term 1 Week 8).

Compere nominations

The ITSDF24 is looking for highly accomplished, confident and enthusiastic public-speaking students from Years 5 to 12 to act as Comperes for the festival.  Interested students are required to submit the ITSDF24 Compere NominationApplications close Friday 5 April at 4:30 pm (Term 1 Week 10)

VET Entertainment work placement

Applications are now open for VET Entertainment Industry students in Years 11 and 12 to nominate to complete a work placement at the Festival. This will provide successful students with 44 hours of work placement hours.  Interested students are required to submit the ITSDF24 VET nomination form.  Applications close Friday 5 April at 4:30 pm (Term 1 Week 10)
