CoLab Senior Drama Workshops
CoLab Senior Drama Workshops promote collaboration between NSW public school teachers and Year 12 students in preparation for their HSC drama group performance.
The workshops allow aspiring student performers to refine skills and devise their HSC group performance with HSC drama students from a wide variety of schools. Intensive workshops allow teachers and students to bring together their diverse expertise to further develop and refine the skills needed to succeed in group performances.
Group Performance workshops are focused on building students' collaborative skills and teaching varied approaches to devise original theatrical works, a core component of the HSC Drama course. To be considered for the workshops, schools must commit to attending the entire series, which consists of two full days.
On day one, students participate in workshops with professional artists and practitioners. On day two, students participate in a performance skills workshop and spend time rehearsing their group performance piece to present to their peers for feedback.
The 2022 CoLab Senior Drama Workshops were successfully held on Wednesday 4 May (Term 2 Week 2) and Wednesday 1 June 2022 (Term 2 Week 6) at Macarthur Girls High School and Thursday 5 May (Term 2 Week 2) and Thursday 2 June 2022 (Term 2 Week 6) at Penrith Selective High School.
Information for the 2023 CoLab Senior Drama Workshops will be available in Term 1 2023.
