Co-Lab Senior Drama Workshops
CoLab Senior Drama Workshops promote collaboration between teachers and Year 12 public school students in preparation for their HSC drama group performance.
The workshops allow aspiring student performers to refine skills and devise their HSC group performance with HSC drama students from a wide variety of schools. Intensive workshops allow teachers and students the opportunity to bring together their diverse expertise to further develop and refine the skills needed to succeed in group performances.
Group Performance workshops are focused on building students' collaborative skills and teaching varied approaches to devising original theatrical works; a core component of the HSC Drama course. To be considered for the workshops schools must make a commitment to attending the entire series, which consists of two full days.
On the first day, students participate in two workshops with artists and practitioners including Swoop Physical Theatre and Chopt Logic. On the second day, students participate in a performance skills workshop. Following this, students present their Group Performance to their peers for feedback. Students are then provided the afternoon to apply their feedback and rehearse with their group.
