The Aboriginal Dance Workshops program is an opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from NSW public schools in Years 5 to 12 to participate in contemporary Aboriginal dance workshops.

The 2-day workshop will be led by Aboriginal dance industry professionals and will focus on the 2022 NAIDOC theme.   

Workshop content will engage students in learning about their rich culture and history through movement and Aboriginal pedagogies that will enhance student’s form of expression through dance.

Schools may nominate a maximum of 8 students.


2022 dates

Aboriginal Dance Workshops is currently in planning for 2022. 

It is anticipated that workshops will be held in Term 1. 

Further information and confirmed dates will be available in early Term 1, 2022. 

Workshops will be temporarily modified to support efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19 and maintain the safety and wellbeing of students.

The operation of these programs are contingent on advice provided by the NSW Department of Education in consultation with NSW Health. All activities will adhere to the DoE COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions.
