Bathurst Small Schools CAPA Festival
The Bathurst Small Schools CAPA (Creative and Performing Arts) Festival is a biennial event held at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre for public school students in Kindergarten to Year 6 from small schools.
The Festival is a celebration of dance, music, drama and visual arts where the students get the opportunity to work collaboratively with students from other small schools to perform in a concert in a professional venue.
As part of the Festival visiting and residential artists also work with the students to prepare artworks for an exhibition to be held concurrently in the Centre.
Festival date: Wednesday 11 August 2021
(Term 3 Week 5)
Applications to nominate for the festival will open in late Term 2.
Bathurst Small Schools' Online Art Exhibition
In 2021 our Art exhibition has gone online!
Visual Arts provides an important opportunity for students to explore new and familiar mediums, stretch their creativity and build resilience. Art also provides students with opportunities to learn about various cultures and artists and their place in history and society.
The study of Visual Arts in primary school builds upon understanding and exploring the 7 elements of art: colour, line, shape, value, texture, form and space.
Our students enjoy exploring these elements and have created wonderful artworks which you will see as you view the galleries of the Bathurst Small Schools' Online Arts Exhibition.
We hope you enjoy your visit!
The operation of this program is contingent on advice provided by the NSW Department of Education in consultation with NSW Health. All activities will adhere to the DoE COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions.
