No audition is required.

Music is sent to students to prepare before the first rehearsal.

The choir meets to rehearse in Sydney before performing on the stage of the Sydney Opera House as part of the Festival of Choral Music.

• Sunday 3 August 10 am – 4 pm at Lewisham Public School (Arts Unit)
• Monday 4 August 10 am – 5 pm at Sydney Opera House
• Tuesday 5 August 2:30 pm – 5 pm at Sydney Opera House

Performances

• Monday 4 August 7pm at Sydney Opera House
• Tuesday 5 August 7 pm at Sydney Opera House

Fees

• Metropolitan students: $110 
• Non-metropolitan students (and rural and remote students): $82.50

Payment is to be made upon acceptance of a successful application.

2. Email a request for the unaccompanied student/s to attend for approval to the Program Coordinator – Ashley Napoleoni

5. Pay the $35 per student through the payment portal, select 'arts initiatives' and 'Taiko Drumming: Payment portal

Application process

The SpecFest team are looking for groups including (but not limited to):

• musical ensembles (for example, big bands, marimba ensembles, vocal ensembles)
• dance groups (for example, cultural groups, circus skills, dancesport)
• drama groups (for example, street performers, mime)

• A minimum of 3rd grade Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) or equivalent is expected to audition.
• Rehearsals occur on weekends, twice a school term at Merewether High School Learning Centre.
• Additional rehearsals are scheduled to coincide with performance commitments.
• The Hunter Wind Ensemble tours locally, interstate and internationally.
• There is a cost of $165 (in. GST) per semester.
