Tales from the Wild Bush
Fun. Playful. Engaging.
Children's Theatre for the digital age.
The NSW Department of Education's Arts Unit was proud to present the NSW Public Schools 2021 Drama Company performance “Tales from the Wild Bush”. Co-produced with NIDA, supporter of the NSW Public Schools Drama Company.
When a young child suddenly faces the reality of big school, they find comfort and counsel in their favourite bedtime book “Tales from the Wild Bush”. There’s much to learn from their furry native friends; the dark can sometimes shine a light, and answers are often where you least expect them. An adventure of fun, fantasy and friendship!
This exciting original production was devised for our youngest students: Kindergarten to Year 2. Written and performed by the NSW Public Schools 2021 Drama Company under the direction of industry professionals Robert Jago and Emma Palmer and performed with the support of our partner NIDA. This theatrical journey was the epitome of theatre for young people, by young people.
The production was performed and recorded at NIDA in May 2021. The filmed production and accompanying resources will be shared with Department of Education schools across NSW.
