HOLLY FAULDS: Hi everyone, my name's Holly Faulds. I'm a proud Wiradjuri, Dharawal and Dwarwandi woman from Dubbo and I'll be one of your team tutors for 2025.
Today I'm going to be teaching you the audition choreography for the NSW Public Schools Aboriginal Dance Company. Before we get started, I'd like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land we're filming on today, the Gadigal people of the Eora nation, and pay my respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to the land and communities you call home. So, let's get started.
We go, 1, head to the corner, 2, little step then jump back, 3, head comes to the back, and 4. Then we step forward and scoop, down, bend your legs, step back, ripple your arms, brush the floor, bring it all the way up, and turn. Keep your arm here, we reach through our arm, 1, and 2, reach all the way to that corner, in a lunge, bring it back forward, step on your back leg, and down. Then we do an emu arm, up, and down. For boys doing this piece, keep your head behind your back, and it just goes like this, and down.

Once you've finished learning the audition choreography, I'd like you to create 4 lots of 8 of your own chorey that best showcases you. Try and create your chorey in the style of the piece that I've just taught you and add it on to the end. I'd like you to choose your own music to perform this to. Thank you so much for auditioning. We can't wait to watch your videos. Good luck!
