NATHAN: So we took inspiration from, in our lives, how we need to have priorities and how we need to clip away unnecessary clutter from our lives. It can be different things, including bad habits, things that we need to eliminate from our lives or pull back on to clear our minds and to focus on other things.

WILL: It's a coming of age about Nathan growing up and what was happening just then.

NATHAN: Well, we wanted to create a mysterious sort of vibe. In my house, we run a church. So we use lots of technology, lighting, microphones. And then we just used it for our film. We thought it'd be a great opportunity to use some of that privileges that we have.

EDDY: Oh, well, let's just say I may have played a girl for part of the film.

[laughter]

So yeah, that was quite a funny moment. Because obviously, we didn't have any girl actors at the moment. So I just had to step in and take the role.

WILL: Wear a wig.

EDDY: Yeah, yeah.

NATHAN: Could also be the representation. We use a Barbie doll, for example. We used a table as a representation of the life, all the things coming into it.

DAVID TODD: The filmmakers next year who want to enter CApture as a finalist, what tips might you have for them?

WILL: Definitely work on getting the shots right. You don't want any blurry shots, and getting that audio perfect.

NATHAN: It's a lot about the planning stages as well, making sure you have the storyboards, you have all the screenplays ready. So that when you get to the filming day, it's like a real movie. You want to know what you're doing in terms of acting, lines.

EDDY: Just make sure you plan. Make sure you plan well so you're ready on the day.
