Shining Stars Music
Shining Stars Music is a creative arts program for Kindergarten to Year 12 public school students with a disability. Shining Stars provides opportunities for students to actively engage in a relevant and meaningful program of study in arts education that reflects the needs, interests and abilities of each student. Students develop knowledge of the creative arts curriculum, life skills, performance skills and confidence in creating a dance performance piece that they will perform to large audiences.
During this program, students participate in a series of workshops that provide them with an opportunity to build their creative arts skills and meet and form friendships with other students with disabilities. At the conclusion of all our Shining Stars creative arts programs, students have the opportunity to showcase and celebrate their talents in a Shining Stars Showcase. In addition to the Shining Stars Showcase, opportunities are made available for students to perform and exhibit their work at festivals, conferences, fundraising events and exhibitions.
Shining Stars provides professional learning opportunities for teachers and School Learning Support Officers (SLSO) who are interested in developing their skills in creative arts education and in learning how to use and teach dance, drama, music and visual arts effectively in the classroom to support students.

Nominations
Nominations for Shining Stars Music have closed.
Schools have the choice of participating in drumming workshops or music performance and our Auslan signing choir. Schools are able to nominate up to 5 students to participate, with students nominated in priority order.
Schools are asked to complete their nomination form in consultation with the school principal.
Workshops
Workshops will be held at Ashcroft Public School on the following dates
Ensemble one – music performance and Auslan signing choir 9:30 am – 2 pm
- Tuesday 11 August 2026 (Term 3 Week 4)
- Tuesday 8 September 2026 (Term 3 Week 8)
- Tuesday 15 September 2026 (Term 3 Week 9)
The ensemble will be limited to 20 students.
Ensemble two – drumming 10 am – 2 pm
- Wednesday 16 September 2026 (Term 3 Week 9)
- Thursday 17 September 2026 (Term 3 Week 9)
The ensemble will be limited to 15 students.
Showcase
The Shining Stars Showcase will be held on Tuesday 22 September 2026 (Term 3 Week 10) at Campbelltown Arts Centre.

Audience tickets to the showcase are now available and must be purchased through TryBooking.
- Child (2–17 years old or K–12): $18.00
- Pensioner/concession or student: $20.00
- Adult: $22.00
Ticket prices include GST. Booking and transaction fees may apply.
Cost
Ensemble one – music performance and Auslan signing choir: $110.00 per student and includes a Shining Stars ensemble t-shirt.
Ensemble two – drumming: $85.00 per student and includes a Shining Stars ensemble t-shirt.
Refund policy
By participating in the Shining Stars program, the participating school understands that the program may be required to change delivery methods, workshop and event dates or be cancelled at short notice to accommodate current COVID-19 advice and the safety and wellbeing of all participating schools and staff.
Students who withdraw from the program after official acceptance or during workshops will not be provided a refund. Schools will be provided the option to replace the individual student if circumstances permit and it is mutually appropriate for all parties.
Should the Shining Stars program be cancelled prior to the advertised workshop and no alternative offered, a partial refund of $55.00 per student will be provided, and schools will be sent their Shining Stars t-shirts. Should the Shining Stars workshops take place and the showcase and exhibition be cancelled, no refund will be offered.
There will be no refunds on t-shirts once the order has been placed with the supplier. Orders will be issued upon receipt of goods.
