Tales from the Wild Bush - Diretor Rob Jago

Rob is an actor, director, drama coach and mentor. He graduated from NIDA in 2003. As an actor his theatre credits include The Odd Couple (The Ensemble), Tartuffe and Macbeth (Bell Shakespeare Company), Cyrano de Bergerac, Much Ado About Nothing (Sport for Jove Theatre Co.), Stop Kiss (Unlikely Productions), Alienation (Perth Theatre Company), Death in Bowengabi (Merrigong Theatre Co), Hitler’s Daughter (Monkey baa Theatre Co), Richard III (Siren Theatre Co), The Merchant of Venice (Downstairs Belvoir) and Cloud 9  (Relaxed and Comfortable Group/Darlighurst Theatre Co). 
Film credits include Little Monsters, Australia  and Wolverine. Television credits include Rescue Special Ops, City Homicide, All Saints, Scorched and Home and Away.   
He has directed Macbeth in a co-production for The Arts Unit and Sport for Jove Theatre, Fight With all Your Might The Zombies of Tonight written by Matthew Whitett and Girls Like That written by Evan Placey both for ATYP. 
 
He produced the short film Julian for Year of the Rabbit Films. This film won numerous international awards including the Crystal Bear for best short film at the Berlinale and the AACTA award for best short film in 2009.  
 
Rob has taught for many of Australia’s elite drama schools and television shows and created specialised drama programs and courses at The Australian Theatre for Young People, Actor’s Center Australia and NIDA Open Program. He was also drama coach for channel 7’s flagship show Home and Away. In 2015 he took the position of Workshops Manager at ATYP leaving in 2019 as Associate Director. He has a huge passion in creating a generation of story-tellers who are hardworking, generous and brave in their choices.  Within a safe and positive environment, he believes students should be challenged and given a set of standards that ultimately empower them, making them feel worthy and confident to contribute to any professional rehearsal room in the country.
