Instrumental, vocal and state music ensembles, workshops with national and international industry partners and festival performances, allow students to express themselves as listeners, composers, and performers.

Performance opportunities

Our 2024 State Music Festivals have given opportunities to outstanding music ensembles and soloists from Kindergarten to Year 12 across NSW.

Applications will open early 2024 for future State Music Festivals.  

 

In Concert

Applications for In Concert 2024 will open mid-November.

In Concert dates for 2024 are Monday 27 May and Tuesday 28 May.

Instrumental Ensembles

Weekly music ensembles develop high-level music skills, while seasonal state ensembles meet for intensives before festival performances.

Music Festivals

Years 3 to 12 students and teachers
Students work with expert conductors and musicians to perform repertoire specifically chosen and commissioned for them. Primary and secondary schools are encouraged to submit music groups, choirs or soloists for inclusion in music festivals.

An annual showcase of individual items and combined school choirs provide an opportunity to develop, refine and highlight music and performance skills in a premiere performance venue.
