The Department of Education has made a pledge to meet the NSW Government’s accessibility requirement (http://www.dec.nsw.gov.au/footer/accessibility). Which states that all government websites meet Level A standard by 31st December 2012 and Level AA standard by 31st December 2014 (http://arp.nsw.gov.au/c2012-08-nsw-government-website-management). Captions generated after the event meet WCAG 2.0 A standard as per WCAG 2.0 guideline 1.2.2 (https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG/#media-equiv-captions) and live captions meet WCAG 2.0 AA standard as per WCAG 2.0 guideline 1.2.4 (https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG/media-equiv-real-time-captions). By agreeing to this you acknowledge that the cost of producing captions will automatically be included in the production cost. As a rough guide live captions cost $300/hr for the first hour, $75/15min thereafter; and captions for produced videos cost $10/min of footage.
