Western NSW Dance Workshop
Western NSW Dance Workshop (formerly Western NSW Dance Camp) is a 3-day non-residential workshop program for Year 6 to Year 12 NSW public school students with an interest in dance. It provides an opportunity for regional and rural students to collaborate, connect and participate in a variety of dance workshops led by professional dancers, choreographers and teachers.
The workshop will provide a challenging and stimulating dance education program covering a variety of dance styles enabling students to develop their dance technique, creativity and performance quality in a fun and engaging environment.
All sessions are tailored to meet the learning needs of students from diverse backgrounds, including those with different skill levels and prior dance experience. Students will be encouraged to work within their own capabilities and to experience dance in a positive and inclusive environment.
- Dates: Monday 3 April to Wednesday 5 April 2023 (Term 1 Week 11)
- Time: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day
- Venue: Denison College of Secondary Education - Bathurst High Campus.
Students are required to attend all 3 days of the workshop as skills will be built on each day.
An afternoon showcase of the works created as part of the program will be held Wednesday 5 April from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm for family and friends.
How to apply
Applications are now open for interested Year 6 to Year 12 public school students to nominate to participate in the Workshop program.
Please complete the Western NSW Dance Workshop application form by Wednesday 8 March 2023 (Term 1 Week 7).
School principals will be contacted for their endorsement of nominated students.
Students will be advised of the result of their nomination for the Workshop program on Friday 10 March 2023 (Term 1 Week 7).
A participation fee of $120 per student. This participation fee includes lunch provided each day, tutor costs and a workshop t-shirt.
