Professional practice day – with Peter Sharp, Senior Lecturer, School of Art and Design UNSW.
Join artist and senior lecturer, Peter Sharp at UNSW Art & Design for a full day of visual arts professional development.
Peter Sharp’s research over twenty-five years has consistently been about the visual exploration and understanding of how nature works and fits together through the lens of abstraction.
His art covers a wide range of media including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking and video.
This professional practice day includes:
- campus tour and UNSW Art & Design course discussion
- Peter Sharp Workshop – Abstraction, drawing to painting.
In this workshop, Peter Sharp will use drawing as a means to disrupt expectations and create opportunities for planning and making abstract paintings.
The workshop will include both drawing and painting outcomes.
These workshop methods readily translate to the high school art room and can be a great way to introduce ‘abstraction’ to the curriculum.
