Workshop content
Ballet workshop
The workshops are taught by members of The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach Team and are open to all levels of experience. The classes will focus on artistry, strength, alignment, rhythm and grace in a safe and respectful environment.
The workshop material will be based around performances of The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach Team.
Choreographic workshop
Participants will explore choreography through warm-ups, creative tasks, and learning the tools choreographers use to make a dance. A great way to increase student's confidence, critical thinking, teamwork and creativity.
The workshop material will be based on performances by The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach Team as outlined below.
- Wonderland choreographed by Paul Knobloch, composition by Peter Wilson and costume design by Fiona Holley, is an adapted ballet inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Follow Alice down the rabbit hole as she overcomes obstacles, meets new characters and learns about her strengths along the way.
Performance
Each day, students who have participated in the workshops will have the opportunity to view an adapted version of the repertoire performed by two of The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach Team in the Tanya Pearson studios.
