The workshop material will be based around performances of The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach Team.
Choreographic workshop
Participants will explore choreography through warm-ups, creative tasks, and learning the tools choreographers use to compose dances. This workshop aims to increase student's confidence, critical thinking, teamwork and creativity.
The workshop material will be based on performances by The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach Team as outlined below.
- From The Gadhu choreographed by Ella Havelka, music/cultural consultation by Tristan Field, and design/cultural consultation by Latoya Brown. Inspired by stories of whale migration, this contemporary duet follows the dancers as they explore themes of caring for Country, communication and symbiosis.
- Wonderland choreographed by Paul Knobloch, composition by Peter Wilson and costume design by Fiona Holley, is an adapted ballet inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Follow Alice down the rabbit hole as she over comes obstacles, meets new characters and learns about her strengths along the way.
Performance
Each day, students who have participated in the workshops will have the opportunity to view a performance by The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach Team in the Tanya Pearson studios.
