[intro music]

ISABEL: Oh, I'm Isabel, and our film is 'Shut Out'.

EVELYN: We all sort of had the same roles, but most of us-- we had some people supplying the materials, we had some people filming, and we had people hosting the house as well.

SIENNA: While we were brainstorming, we kind of thought, might as well make it more fun, target it towards children, since it is a G-rated film.

ISABEL: It's about how we wanted our audience to feel like that they have a place wherever they are and that they will be accepted no matter how long it takes.

DAVID TODD: How much work was in this film?

EVELYN: A lot. I think in total-- we did a calculation. I think more than 20 hours spent on the whole thing. We did it over a few weeks, and we all came to my house, and every weekend, we would just build it for hours and then only film for a few minutes. [laughs]

ISABEL: It gives us a chance to creatively express ourselves, which I feel like sometimes we can't do in words.

[gentle music playing]
