KIMAYA: Hi, my name is Kimaya Dutta, and I'm in Year 6 at Concord West Public School. My artwork is titled 'The Rainforest', and I created it on Wangal land. I created it on Wangal land of the Eora nation.

I created my artwork by using the collage technique. I used various ways to assemble this piece, including cutting, ripping, folding, twisting and layering the coloured paper. This approach helped in adding depth, giving it a 3D effect. This artwork serves to capture the life cycle of the rainforest. The coloured shades of paper represent the various stages of foliage.

I am happy that it will be gifted to the Children's Hospital at Westmead because it will serve as a source of comfort and calmness to the kids who see it when they visit the hospital. It gives me immense satisfaction and sincere hope that it can bring a cheer to children.
