KIERA: My name is Kiera Malecdem, and I am starting high school this year. I made my artwork last year when I was in Year 6 at Mary Immaculate Primary School on Dharug land. The name of my artwork is 'Wishful Walter the Wombat'. The creation of my artwork started with the background. I painted a light wash of blue for the sky and made the trunk with oil pastels, soft pastels and some brown paint. The cute little wombat, Walter, was made entirely out of oil pastels.

I'm so grateful that my artwork will be gifted to the Children's Hospital at Westmead because whenever I visit the hospital I always admire the wonderfully-made paintings on display, and I am so honoured to have my artwork up there for everyone else to enjoy too.
