Pulse Alive 2024 - What is Pulse Alive?

[intro music]

[gentle music playing]

STUDENT 1: Pulse Alive is a celebration of everybody's talent and compromising as a team.

STUDENT 2: It just brings joy to people to come here and make new friends.

STUDENT 3: If I was to describe Pulse Alive with one word, it would be 'collaboration'. That idea of every single person getting a voice into it: the dancers, the drama ensemble, the singers, the tech crew, the staff, the teachers, the tutors, the directors. Everyone gets a say into it, and I think that's what makes it so, so special.

STUDENT 4: Pulse Alive, it only works with lots of voices in the room, and it's important to continually hear different opinions than your own.

STUDENT 5: Pulse Alive, to me, one word to describe it would be 'electric', because when you get out on that stage and you look around the arena at all the incredible audience members, the only thing you feel is just the electricity in the air, and then it all fades away when you sing your first note.

STUDENT 2: When I dance, it just brings joyfulness, happiness.

STUDENT 6: When I dance, it feels like I don't have to think about anything else in the world, and I can just focus on the music and myself.

STUDENT 7: I like Pulse Alive because I get to dance and get my feelings out.

STUDENT 8: I feel very honoured to be a Pulse Alive vocalist.

SALLY DANGAR: Our biggest hope for all of our dancers at Pulse Alive is that they walk away feeling like they have had a really professional experience. For some of our students, it's the first time they've ever danced in a venue on such a scale. For some, it's the first time they've ever danced at all.

STUDENT 6: I think the most important part of Pulse Alive is the community.
