LUCKY LARTEY: Hi everyone. This is Lucky Lartey here. Welcome to the 10th episode of the West African Traditional Dance, and today we'll be learning a traditional dance from Ghana, my country. And also, this dance is from my tribe.

So, when you come to Ghana, we are different tribes, and this specific dance we're going to do is performed by my tribe. The dance is called Kpanlogo. Can we say it together? Kpanlogo. Yeah?

Before we start a dance, just a few things you need to know. I am really warm. I have been stretching for the past 30 minutes, and warming up, and stretching. So, you make sure you're nice and warm. You make sure you have big enough space that you can move around.

[Music playing]

1, 2, 3. Then we're going to do this. So, it's clap, clap, criss cross. 1, 2, 3. One more time. 2, 3. Next one. And, then the next beat you step - you step. You go - 1, step, 2, 3, 4.

One more time. 1, 2, 3. So, we put the two together. Clap, clap, criss cross, straight into a step. And - 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Yeah, while the music is slowing. 1, 2, 3. And then again. Last one.

The next beat we go starting from clap, clap, criss cross. Then we go again. So, it's 1, 2, 3, 4, arms. Yes? 1, 2, 3, 4, arms.

Then, we're going to spin around. So, we go 1, 2, 3. So, we hit the right foot. Up and down, yeah? Beautiful.

It's a dance performed by the Ga people of Ghana. My Dad is a Ga, so this is a dance from my Dad's tribe. And, all the song they're singing also is my tribe, so I can understand all the songs they're singing.
