NSW Public Schools Dance Ensembles - application form 2025

Applications are now open!

Applications close Wednesday 4 December 2024.

The 2025 NSW Public schools dance ensemble auditions will be held during school hours at the Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE).

  • First audition: Tuesday 10 December (Years 4 to 6), Wednesday 11 December (Years 7 to 9) and Thursday 12 December (Years 10 to 12).
  • Callback audition: Friday 13 December 2024.

All students who audition must be available to attend the callback audition if requested. 

Participation is open to all students attending NSW public schools.

Audition process

  1. Parents must complete the application form for their child to attend the live audition (see form below).
  2. Students will attend a live audition during school hours at the Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE) on Tuesday 10 December to Thursday 12 December 2024. 
  3. Selected students may be required to attend a callback audition during school hours at Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE) on Friday 13 December 2025.
  4. Parents/students will be informed of their audition day/time via email.
  5. Parents/students will be informed of their audition result from Monday 16 December via email. 
  6. If successful, the ensembles rehearse weekly at Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE), after school hours, during school term, and will commence in February 2025. 

About the Dance Ensembles

Our dance ensembles are designed to give public school students an opportunity to develop high-level skills in dance technique, composition and performance.  Students come together to rehearse, train and perform with other like-minded dance students.

All students rehearse weekly at Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE), after school hours, during school term, and will commence in February 2024.

Primary Dance Ensembles 
Years 4 to 6 students – rehearse Monday evenings; 5:00 to 7:00 pm
First rehearsal date Monday 17 February 2025

Senior Dance Ensembles 
Years 10 to 12 students – rehearse Tuesday evenings; 4:30 to 7:00 pm
First rehearsal date Tuesday 18 February 2025

Junior Dance Ensembles 
Years 7 to 9 students – rehearse Wednesday evenings; 5:00 to 7:00 pm
First rehearsal date Wednesday 19 February 2025

  • Regional Dance Festival – June 2025
  • State Dance Festival – September 2025
  • Schools Spectacular – November 2025
  • Additional opportunities throughout the year as they arise.

What happens next

The audition panel will review the applications after the live auditions. Parents/students will be emailed after this date the outcome of the audition.
