State Dance Festival – School nomination form 2025

Welcome to the school item nomination form for the 2025 NSW Public Schools State Dance Festival.

Applications close Thursday 3 July 2025.

Requirements

  • State Dance Festival will take place Monday 15 to Friday 19 September 2025 (Term 3 Week 9) at the Seymour Centre, Chippendale.
  • Ensure you have read the nomination guidelines before nominating your school's item/s.
  • It is the nominating teacher's responsibility to ensure the video link for each item is submitted by the due date.
  • The audition panel will view all video auditions on Monday 7 to Thursday 10 July 2025.

Video

  • Video auditions should not exceed 7 minutes for secondary schools and 5 minutes for primary schools.
  • If you are successful in obtaining a position into the State Dance Festival and your performance is over these times, you will be asked to edit your piece.

Further information

  • Nominations may exceed places available. Please do not anticipate acceptance into the State Dance Festival.
  • All applications will be notified via email of their success after the audition panel meet.

Which regional dance festivals did you perform in this year?
  • You can select mulitple festivals.
  • Please Note: Not all regional festivals will be filmed this year. It is your responsibility as the nominating teacher to ensure the video link is submitted by the due date. If the video is to be provided by the Regional Festival, please ensure your relevant Festival Coordinator is informed of your nomination. Note in the URL box below 'The XXX Dance Festival Committee will provide the video link'
