Primary Wind Ensemble

Region: Regional North | Newcastle/Lake Macquarie/Maitland
Years 3 to 6
Local arts program Public schools Music

The Primary School Wind Ensemble is for NSW public school primary aged students that currently do not have access, or have limited access (perhaps a very small or developing ensemble), to a band at their own schools.

The ensemble will target talent development for students from Years 3-6 that have a minimum of 12 months of lessons and are familiar with the workings of their instruments. Students are expected to receive weekly lessons on their instruments as students are expected to work on the ensemble music throughout the term.

The Primary Wind Ensemble also includes High Potential and Gifted students from local public schools who are gifted musicians, to act as leaders and mentors for each section of the ensemble.
