State Choir

Region: Metro, Metropolitan South
Years 8 to 12

The choir is open to all NSW public school students Years 8 to 12 and are a combination of male and female voices. No audition is required.

The state choir provides an opportunity for 80 dedicated and talented choristers to sing challenging repertoire with Australia's leading choral directors.

State Choir 2025 application are now open. Please complete the application form. Applications will close on Monday 14 July 2025.

2025 dates

Rehearsals

The choir meets to rehearse in Sydney before performing as part of the Festival of Choral Music.

  • Sunday 3 August 10 am – 4 pm at Lewisham Public School (the Arts Unit)
  • Monday 4 August 10 am – 5 pm at Sydney Opera House
  • Tuesday 5 August 2:30 pm – 5 pm at Sydney Opera House

Performances

  • Monday 4 August 6:30 pm at Sydney Opera House
  • Tuesday 5 August 6:30 pm at Sydney Opera House

Fees

  • Metropolitan students: $110 
  • Non-metropolitan students (and rural and remote students): $82.50

Payment is to be made upon acceptance of a successful application.
