About the program

This program is open to students in Years 5 to 12 who attend a NSW public school.

This program will educate students in Japanese taiko style drumming techniques. Led by our experienced tutor Graham Hilgendorf, director of YuNiOn. During these active and engaging one-day workshops students and teachers will learn about the taiko, playing in an ensemble and simple music arrangements, which culminate in performance work that can be taken back to school and shared with the school community.

Up to 10 students per school can attend the in-person workshops as a group with a supervising teacher. Up to 20 students per school can attend the online workshops as a group with a supervising teacher. A maximum of 2 students can attend the in-person workshops unaccompanied with prior email approval from the program coordinator, Ashley Napoleoni – ashley.jones29@det.nsw.edu.au
