Multicultural Playwright Program Coffs Harbour – application form 2024

About the program

This 3-day workshop gives multicultural and refugee students and their teachers a scriptwriting and performance experience, culminating in a showcase performance that is live streamed back to the student’s home countries.

Workshop information

  • The program will include a 1 day teacher professional learning workshop
  • In addition to this workshop, teachers will have the opportunity to have a theatre practitioner mentor come along to their school to work with their students for 1 x 2hr workshop to assist with the preparation and devising of their performances. 
  • These performances form the basis of the piece to be developed throughout the 3 day workshop.
  • The final showcase of the student work is then performed and live streamed to home countries.

Program fees

  • The 3-day workshop fee is $90.00 per participating student.
  • There is no fee for the teacher professional learning session for 1 teacher per school who have students participating in the 3 day program.
  • A fee of $150 for additional teachers attending the professional learning.

  1. Up to 10 students per school can attend the workshop as a group.

Important information

In the event of injury, no personal injury insurance cover is provided by the NSW Department of Education for students in relation to school sporting activities, physical education lessons or any other school activity. The department’s public liability cover is fault-based and limited to breaches by the department of its duty of care to students that may result in claims for compensation.

Parents/carers are advised to assess the level and extent of their child’s involvement in the activity when deciding whether additional insurance cover is required prior to their child’s involvement in the program. Personal accident insurance cover is available through normal retail insurance outlets.

  1. administration;
  2. communication with parents/carers; and
  3. for the health, safety and welfare of your student.
