Lights, camera, action!
Introduction to Film By
How did Film By begin?
Film By began as a class making a short film. The first movie made activated students’ thinking in 4 ways.
It stimulated creativity, unlocking the imagination that is in all of us.
By combining our ideas, views, and attitudes, we collaboratively unlocked the potential and power of working together.
It stimulated the filmmakers to critically think:
- Who is our audience?
- What is our purpose? Have we reached our audience?
- Have we told our story well?
It communicated the story through the powerful use of the camera.
From that one film, the potential was seen for all students in NSW Public Schools to tell their stories.
