The 2025 Film By the Hospital celebration was a truly uplifting and memorable online event. Held on Friday, 5 December 2025 at 10:00 am, hospital schools across NSW came together virtually to celebrate the creativity and achievements of their remarkable young filmmakers. Although the festival was online, each hospital school hosted its own red carpet experience, creating a warm, festive, and exciting atmosphere for its students.

This year’s event was proudly coordinated by Royal North Shore Hospital School, which brought all participating schools together for a seamless and inspiring virtual celebration. The festival featured films from:

• The Hospital School at Westmead
• John Hunter Hospital School
• Royal North Shore Hospital School
• Bankstown Hospital School
• Royal Prince Alfred Hospital School + Forest Lodge PS
• Liverpool Hospital School.

Each school shared powerful and imaginative films that highlighted the resilience, creativity, and courage of their students. Despite the challenges many of these young filmmakers face, they embraced the filmmaking process with passion, producing stories filled with humour, hope, honesty, and heart.

The online format allowed every school community to celebrate together, while the local red carpets made each student feel like a star. Teachers, families, and staff came together to cheer on the filmmakers, creating a beautiful sense of connection and pride across all sites.

Film By the Hospital 2025 was more than an online screening — it was a celebration of strength, storytelling, and the extraordinary young people learning and creating within our hospital schools.
