Drama Festival
The Drama Festival celebrates classroom drama achievements of students in Kindergarten to Year 12. This event is a 2-day celebration of drama works showcasing strong drama outcomes in classrooms from across the state. Over 800 students participate in a range of dramatic styles.

Drama Festival 2023 – Accelerate
The Drama Festival celebrates classroom drama achievements of students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The Festival runs across 2 days – Thursday 26 October to Friday 27 October, with over 800 students participating from across the state.
Dates and performance times:
Thursday 26 October at 11:00 am – primary matinee
Thursday 26 October at 7:00 pm – evening performance
Friday 27 October at 11:00 am – secondary matinee
Friday 27 October at 7:00 pm – evening performance

Tickets
Audience tickets are now on sale through The Seymour Centre.

Workshops
In 2023 The Arts Unit will run 60 minute and 90 minute drama workshops led by professional practitioners before and after the matinee performances.

Festival clothing
Pre-ordered clothing sales are now open for purchase.
Festival t-shirts are $30.00 and hoodies are $60.00.
Pre-orders will close on Friday 6 October. While a limited number of t-shirts will be available to purchase in the foyer at Drama Festival 30 minutes prior to each performance, we strongly recommend ordering through the link to secure your festival clothing.

School nominations
Schools can nominate any pieces that have not been presented in your local Area Drama Festival.
Nominations have closed for 2023.
Cost
$120.00 including GST per item.
Area Drama Festival panelists
Applications for 2024 Area Drama Festival panelists will open in Term 2, 2024.
