Local school workshops

The Arts Unit provides workshops for each festival across the state and networks around the state.

This is where we come to you! However, for it to be feasible we require you to have at least 3 other surrounding schools that are willing to participate.

During the workshop students make, create, and learn new filmmaking skills. Workshops cover a variety of different topic areas, including the use of the camera, sound, and story.

Delivered by specialist film teachers, these workshops are tailored to meet your school's needs and designed to extend participants' skills beyond the classroom and assist school groups to work together in a creative and collaborative environment.

In 2025 we will be offering full day workshops for:

  • Kindergarten to Year 4 students
  • Year 5 to Year 8 students
  • Year 9 to Year 11 students.

Cost: $20.00 per student

Application process

Students attending workshops with a teacher

  1. Up to 10 students per school can attend the workshop as a group.
  2. Complete this online application form, including all your students' details and contact teacher information.
  3. Complete the form and upload all necessary documents at least 4 days before the workshops.

Unaccompanied students attending the workshop

  1. A maximum of 2 students per school can attend the workshops unaccompanied.
  2. Email a request for the unaccompanied students to attend for approval to the Program Coordinator – Karishma Mathur 
  3. Complete this online application form, including the unaccompanied students' details and contact teacher information.

Please note – all unaccompanied student paperwork must be completed and returned prior to the start of the workshop.
