NSW Premier's Reading Challenge support

What if my school does not participate in the PRC?

Parents should approach their child's school to see if the school has overlooked participation in the PRC.  If your school is not participating in the challenge and has no PRC coordinator, the PRC team can manage your participation as an independent student.

Pubic school students

All public school students can log into the PRC without registration by using your student portal login details. Check with your child’s classroom teacher if you do not know your student portal login details.

Please email the PRC team when you have completed entering your student reading records so we can validate them on your behalf.

Non-government school students

If your school does not have a PRC coordinator, please fill out our independent student registration form, and the PRC team will manage your participation in the challenge. The PRC will create a non-government DoE ID and password for your child as part of this process.

Assistance for students and teachers

If you need help on how to do the Challenge or navigate the website, refer to the PRC support site and rules.

If you can't find the answer on the PRC Support site, please contact the PRC coordinator at your school.

Assistance for PRC coordinators

The PRC Coordinator at each school is responsible for escalating Help Requests from Students and Teachers at their school that cannot be answered by reference to PRC support site or rules or the online help on each page.

If help is required on how to do the Challenge or how to navigate the website and the answer cannot be found on the PRC Support site, please contact us.

Non-government account issues

If you are a non-government coordinator encountering issues with your student upload, please refer to the Errors when trying to use Multiple Student Upload article on our support site.

Non-government DoE staff accounts expire every 12 months. If you are a non-government coordinator experiencing issues with your DoE Login, please ask your principal to reactivate your account by following the How do I reactivate an existing DoE account for a staff member at my school? article on our support site.

If you are a non-government school looking to participate in the PRC for the first time, please refer to this Getting started: Non-government schools article.

Registering homeschool students

Before accessing the PRC website, homeschool students need to be registered. When homeschool students are registered, the PRC team will create a non-government DoE ID and password for your child.

New homeschools must complete the online application form.  You will receive a copy of your entry via email for your records. The PRC team will provide the account details for your students.

Existing homeschools with new students who have not previously participated must complete the online application form, indicating that you are an existing schools, and enter details of new students only.

Students at Homeschools who have previously participated in the PRC can log in with their existing DoE ID and password.
