Workshop information

• Face-to-face workshops from 10 am to 2 pm.
• Participation fee: $35.00 per student.
• Open to all Year 3 to 12 students with disability.

Refund policy

If you are unable to attend the workshop, you have up to seven days to submit a refund request. Please email your request to [email protected]. Refunds will only be processed in cases of extenuating circumstances. 

Attendance

The program starts at 10:00 am and concludes at 2:00 pm. Please note that this may mean your students will need to arrange alternate transport to and from school on these days in order to attend the full program. Arriving late and leaving early is disruptive to the tutors and other students in the program.

Application process

 Students attending workshops with a teacher

1. Up to 10 students per school can attend the workshop as a group.

3. Complete the  Dance workshops for students with disability 2025 - Authority to Film and Record form (PDF 256.54 KB)  
4.  Complete this online application form, including all your students' details and contact teacher information.
5. Your school will be charged a fee of $35.00 per participating student. Fees are processed as a direct debit via an Intercompany Journal (previously Sundry Tax) after the first session.

About the workshop

The workshops are crafted around the students' skill level and cover ballet and contemporary technique through to repertoire and choreographic process. Students will take part in a warm-up, technical exercises, learn repertoire and explore choreographic elements.

• Students do not need to be currently studying for a RAD exam to attend.
• Workshops are also suitable for contemporary dance students.

Cost

• $100.00 – Years 10–12

What to bring and wear

• Please wear comfortable dance clothing.  All hair must be tied up and away from face.
  • Girls – Leotard and tights or dance shorts over the tights (no mid drift tops, unless accompanied with a singlet/t-shirt).
  • Boys – T-shirt/singlet with tights and/or dance shorts.
• All students are to bring ballet flats (NO pointe shoes are needed).
• Please bring only water and plenty to eat for the breaks.  Do not bring food containing nuts.
• Your name clearly marked on belongings and leave unnecessary valuables at home.
• Medications must be left with The Arts Unit staff at the sign in desk.
• There is no provision for parents to view the class in progress.

Each day, students who have participated in the workshops will have the opportunity to view a performance by The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach Team in the Tanya Pearson studios.

Participation is open to all students attending NSW public schools.
